The turning is too slow! How can I speed it up?

In the 'Bike Setup' menu, turn down the 'Stability' slider.

How do I keep the front wheel from diving over jumps?

If you're only nose diving a little bit, you can correct it withthrottle control. Let off the throttle for a moment as you hit thejump, and then go back to full throttle as you go up the jump.

If the jump has an extreme kick to it, you will also need to leanback just before you leave the ground.

When I start a game, the computer plays without me. How do I getin the game?

In the 'New Race' screen, set one gate to 'Human'. That is thegate you will start from.

How do I switch from first person to third person view?

Use the TAB key to toggle between the different viewing modes.

What do the advanced stability settings do?

Mac

Leveling - How much the bike wants to roll towards vertical.
Roll Damping - How quickly the bike leans over.
Roll Limit Angle - The angle when extra roll damping kicks in.
Roll Limit Factor - How much extra roll damping you get past roll limit angle.
Steering Damping - How quickly the bars turn.
Steering Strength - The force used to turn the bars.
Max Steering Force - The maximum forced applied to the bars.
Direct Steering - At 0, the steering control sets the target lean angle. At 1, the steering directly applies force to the handlebars.
Slow Damping Speed - Speed in feet per second below which you get extra roll damping.
Slow Damping Factor - Amount of extra roll damping you get below slow damping speed.
Landing Damping Falloff - How long you get extra roll damping after landing.
Landing Damping Factor - Amount of extra roll damping you get after landing.

How do I edit tracks?

Currently the track editor is intended only for advanced users, butthere is information about it on the trackediting page.

Where are my screenshots and demos saved?

From the Windows Start Menu, open All Programs / MX Simulator / MXSimulator Personal Folder. Linux users can find them in'~/.mxsimulator'.

Graphics Questions

MX Simulator crashes while it's loading the track. How can I fix it?

This is usually caused by buggy graphics drivers. To work aroundthe problem, go to the Graphics/Sound setup menu, choose 'UseCompatibility Settings' then exit and restart the game.

MX Simulator is running extremely slow. How can I speed it up?

You might be getting software rendering from your OpenGL driver.You need to install the drivers from your graphics chip manufacturerto get hardware accelerated OpenGL.

How do I update my graphics drivers?

To find out what graphics chip you have, click the Windows Start button,click Run, type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK. Then clickthe display tab. That should show you the model and manufacturer of yourgraphics processor.

This is usually due to driver bugs while rendering dynamictextures. The first thing to try is upgrading your graphics drivers.If that fails, go to the Graphics/Sound setup menu, choose 'UseCompatibility Settings' then exit and restart the game.

No. If you've changed email addresses you'll need to keep track ofyour key.

Track/Model Installation Questions

How do I install a track or model?

This depends on what type of file you have. For .saf files, justmove the file to your install folder, which is usually'c:Program FilesMX Simulator'.

If the file is zipped, followthese instructions.

For .rar or .7z files, you will need to install7-Zip.

I've installed a track, but the ground is all white or all black.What's wrong?

You probably have the track in an extra sub-folder.Instead of

'C:Program FilesMX Simulatormytrackmytrack'

it should be

'C:Program FilesMX Simulatormytrack'

I've installed some gear or bike graphics but it looks all mixed up.What did I do wrong?

You are most likely missing the model that the graphics were designedfor. You need to install the correct model for the graphics.

Can I install MX Simulator on more than one computer without buyinganother license?

You can install on any computer you own, provided it's for a singleuser.

You can use videos created with MX Simulator for any purpose youwish.
